Lancashire-based company Intellicig, a supplier of electronic cigarette products, has positioned its brand within the healthcare sector by joining the professional organisation Medilink North West.
This step will enable Intellicig to build relationships with manufacturers, distributors and suppliers of healthcare products, as well as academic and NHS organisations.
The regional Medilink organisations support their member companies to stimulate growth and innovation in the medical technology sector.
Through its relationship with the University of Manchester Incubator Company (UMIC), Intellicig has developed its own brand of nicotine liquid in the UK. Intellicig ECOpure is the only UK-manufactured nicotine liquid and contains no imported chemicals. Health experts have praised the brand for offering a healthier alternative to traditional cigarettes.
David Newns, Intellicig's Commercial Director, said: "The collaborative research, networking opportunities and events offered by Medilink membership are particularly valuable to Intellicig.
"This new membership will allow us to work closely with a directory of Medilink North West members including innovators, manufacturers, distributors and suppliers to Universities, Colleges and NHS organisations to improve the healthcare offering across the North West. We hope to do this by sharing skills and best practice whilst conducting further research into our products.
"We take quality control very seriously, and our commitment to reinvestment will ensure that we are able to produce the safest and most reliable products on the market.
"We hope that through Medilink we will be able to build strategic relationships with other members which allow us to continue investing into intensive research and new developments on tobacco free smoking whilst making our products more accessible to the public."
Electronic cigarettes enable smokers to smoke in public places, and to avoid the potential lung and heart damage caused by smoking tobacco.
